This album was developed and recorded in Dakar, Senegal for the 2011 Sufi Festival of Unity. Featuring traditional chants in Arabic, from the Sufi traditions of Islam, in Sanskrit, from the Hindu and Buddhist traditions of India, and poetry in French and English, each piece is offered as a prayer or meditation for the Heart.

We wish to pay our respects to the traditions and teachers who have inspired us and shared their knowledge with us: Ustad Khalil Gudaz, for introducing us to the Chisti Sufi tradition; Ummaji, for introducing us to devotional singing and for her enthusiasm and encouragement; Baluji Shrivastav, sitar master and tabla teacher, for his inspiring teachings and beautiful spirit.
